Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting for new Goodwill in Covington!
The Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting of Goodwill Memphis' new Covington location took place, Wednesday, January 7, 2026, kicking off the New Year with lots of excitement. It was a great turnout for the highly anticipated new location.
The event featured addresses from key leadership figures at Goodwill Memphis, including President and CEO Tony Martini and Senior Vice President of Operations Tina Blackmon. Additionally, dignitaries from Covington, including Mayor Jan Wade Hensley and Chamber Executive Director CH Sullivan, were present and delivered remarks highlighting the significance of the new facility. South Tipton Chamber Director Rosemary Bridges was also present, along with some of her staff and board members, as well as many others. Guests happily lined up and eagerly waited for the doors to open. Tony Martini did the honor of cutting the ribbon, and then they were open for business!
Once inside, guests enjoyed goodie bags, refreshments from our local Crafted Coffee, and a stocked and neat store for their shopping pleasure. Even though there was a crowd, guests were pleasant, and the Goodwill staff handled the day smoothly with smiles. It was a great grand opening!
Jericka Webster, the Community Engagement Coordinator, was a pleasure to work with as we prepared for this ribbon-cutting. We are thankful to have Goodwill Memphis as a long-time chamber member.
