Welcome to Historic Covington Downtown, proudly known as Tennessee’s Sweet Spot. Nestled in West Tennessee, our community offers the perfect mix of small-town charm and big opportunities. Home to nationally loved brands like Unilever and Charms, Covington is also filled with unique local gems — from 19 retail shops and 12 eateries to a vibrant historic theater, beautiful parks, and a thriving arts scene. Whether you’re here for a family outing, a girlfriend’s getaway, or simply to enjoy an evening downtown, Covington has something special for everyone.

In 2024, Covington Main Street became a designated Tennessee Main Street program and accredited with the Main Street America program. Through the Main Street America's Four Point Approach model, the Covington Main Street program strives to promote Covington's charming, historic downtown as a place you want to visit.

Stephanie, a lifetime resident of Covington, has been the Executive Director since the inception of the Covington Main Street program. After being a Stay-At-Home-Mother for 12 years, Stephanie graduated in 2011, from Lambuth University in Jackson, TN, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English with an emphasis on writing composition. While English literature and writing were her main focus at Lambuth University, she pursued history with just as much interest and determination.

As Executive Director, Stephanie has helped build the Covington Main Street program through strong ties to her hometown and a seasoned relationship with businesses in our Downtown District. For more than 25 years, she has served on various boards in Covington and Tipton County as well as volunteered many hours within the community as she ran her own business. While she has considerable experience with planning and organizing community events and fundraisers, she also brings a creative mind-set with fresh ideas and a strong work ethic to continue growing the Main Street brand for the City of Covington. In 2027, she will complete her Travel Marketing Professional credentials through Southeast Tourism Society's Marketing College at Mercer University in Macon, GA.

Stephanie is married to Tim Pugh and has two children; Kyle, who lives in Florida while pursuing his commercial pilot credentials, and MG, who lives in the Memphis area and works in the graphic arts field. However, Stephanie will often be found with her beloved sidekick, Sasha, a Papillion-Cavalier King Charles Spaniel mix.
